  • The Golden 1 Credit Union has numerous branch locations and is also willing to disregard a negative ChexSystems record. Since it is a credit union, you will still need to be qualified to apply – living or working in counties or working for an eligible company.
  • It’s been noted that the San Francisco Federal Credit Union is only allowing for savings accounts, regardless of a person’s ChexSystems history. However, it’s also a credit union, which means you must qualify to have a membership here. A savings account will allow you to use the PayPal service (EFT and ACH transactions included).
  • For the San Mateo Credit Union, a savings account can be opened, regardless of what the ChexSystems record stipulates. Again, it’s a credit union so you must be eligible for it. And, like the San Francisco Federal Credit Union, you use PayPal and its ACH and EFT transactions.
  • Some U.S. Bank branches will consider you for an account if a reported incident is over a year old, was not reported by their bank or that there is proof you’ve paid on the incident.   • There are eight Broadway Federal Bank locations in the Los Angeles area, and they’ll approve a savings-only account if you show proof that you have paid the incident being reported on the ChexSystems record. A savings account allows you to use services like Paypal for ACH and EFT transactions.
  • It’s been reported that Bank of America is more accommodating, altering their policies about ChexSystems.
  • The Matadors Community Credit Union in Northridge will let people open a savings-only account regardless of what the ChexSystems record says. Eligibility membership extends to CSU Northridge faculty and students. A savings account can let you use PayPal and other similar services for EFT and ACH transactions.
  • The First Entertainment Credit Union, with locations in Burbank, Culver City, Hollywood and Santa Monica, is open to entertainment industry employees and families, with the member employer list totaling 600 companies. Any person who has a negative ChexSystems record can be granted an ATM Savings Account but only with written documentation that incidents have been paid for. There’s also a $4.50 charge every month. This savings account will allow you to use such services like PayPal for ACH and EFT transactions.
  • According to officials with the Wescom Credit Union, all new accounts are verified with ChexSystems. However, many folks with negative ChexSystems records were able to open an account with the bank even after they were turned down elsewhere. A savings account allows you to use services like PayPal for ACH and EFT transactions. Since it is a credit union, it’s a residence-limited membership and only for folks who live in the San Bernadino, Orange and Los Angeles counties and to employees and families. You may make withdrawals and deposits in any Credit Union Service Center location in the country.

  • At The California Credit Union, a special savings account is offered to folks who are ineligible for a standard account. This savings account permits you to use services like PayPal for Electronic Funds Transfer and Automated Clearing House transactions. However, you need to make a minimum $500 deposit and, after six months, you’re eligible to open a checking account.
  • New accounts are verified at the Orange County’s Federal Credit Union. However, several branch locations will look at applications on an individual basis.
  • If you want California Bank & Trust to ignore the ChexSystems policy, you’ll need to convince them that you won’t abuse the approved checking account and show proof that incidents have been paid for. There are several good California Bank & Trust locations including but not limited to:

  • The ones considered bad to deal with are: Hacienda Heights, downtown Los Angeles and Mountain View.
  • If you have a negative report in the ChexSystems record, Irvine’s First Bank & Trust may overlook it.

  • North Island Financial Credit Union has many San Diego branch locations and has been reported to overlook a negative mark in the ChexSystems record.
  • For some military and civilians with negative ChexSystems records, it’s possible to get an account with the Armed Forces Bank. You can find locations of this bank at Fort Irwin, Edward AFB and Travis AFB. However, there are some out of state locations too.
  • It’s not known if the branches of the Fort Sill National Bank use ChexSystems or not. If they do, they’re often willing to overlook negative incidents and open new accounts anyway.
  • The Navy Federal Credit Union is open to eligible Marine Corps, Navy and U.S. National Guard members, retired members or families of these folks with locations in the Monterey, San Diego and Westminster areas.
